About BridgeTricks

Dear visitor,

I'm Alessandro Calmanovici, the creator of this website. I've played bridge for about twenty years, more than half of them for the Swiss and the Italian junior teams. I've been living in Zurich since 2017, right now with my wife and son. In my day job I work in data science.

I started BridgeTricks in August 2025. I love the game, and rapid developments in AI coding tools made it realistic for one person to build something like this and even turn it into a side income.

What I'm trying to do

I'd like more people to play bridge, and I'd like every step of improving at it to be simpler and more enjoyable. A bridge player should have somewhere to practice and get better, with reliable tools, a clean UI and a lot of fun while doing it. This is what I'm trying to build.

Who helps

I build the website myself, but I'm not really alone. Several professional players and bridge friends send me feedback, try new features before they go live and tell me what they'd like to see next. Many of you also write in the community, report bugs and give me ideas, and that's all extremely valuable.
