Bridge Scoring Chart

A bridge scoring chart puts every number you need at the table on one page: each contract made, doubled and redoubled, every undertrick penalty, the bonuses and the IMP scale. Download it free as a PDF, no sign-up, or read the table below.

Updated 13 October 2026

Print it, fold it into your card holder and you will not need to ask the table what 4♠ doubled is worth again. The PDF below fits on one page in A4 or US Letter, and every number on it comes from the same scoring code as our scoring calculator.

The whole chart on one page

Contracts made, doubled and redoubled, penalties to 13 down, bonuses, rubber scoring and the IMP scale. No sign-up.

What is on the chart

  • Every contract from 1♣ to 7NT made exactly, undoubled, doubled and redoubled, at both vulnerabilities.
  • Every undertrick penalty from one down to thirteen down, in the same six columns.
  • The trick values, the overtrick values and the bonuses for part score, game, slams and making a doubled contract.
  • The rubber bridge bonuses, including unfinished rubbers and honors.
  • The IMP scale for team games, from a 20-point swing to 4000 and over.

Below is the made-contract part of the chart, the one most players look for. The penalty columns are on the undertrick penalties page and the team scale is on the IMP table.

How to read it

Find the contract in the left column and read across to the vulnerability. Every entry assumes declarer took exactly the tricks bid. The scores are trick points plus one bonus. Clubs and diamonds count 20 a trick, hearts and spades 30, and notrump 40 for the first trick and 30 after. A contract worth less than 100 in trick points is a part score and earns 50. One worth 100 or more is a game and earns 300 not vulnerable or 500 vulnerable.

Two jumps stand out down the columns. The first is at game. 3♠ scores 140, but 4♠ scores 420, because the bonus changes from 50 to 300. The second is at slam, where a further 500 or 750 arrives for twelve tricks and 1000 or 1500 for all thirteen.

Three hands scored from the chart

4♥ made exactly, vulnerable. Read the 4♥ row in the vulnerable column and the answer is 620, which is 120 in trick points plus the 500 game bonus.

2♠ doubled and made when not vulnerable. The chart gives 470 in the doubled column. Doubling turns 60 trick points into 120, which is a game, so the bonus is 300 and the 50 for making a doubled contract goes on top. A doubled part score that crosses 100 is the swing that catches defenders out.

3NT two down, doubled, vulnerable. The penalty part of the PDF reads 500 to the defenders. Had it been undoubled the cost would have been 200, and that difference is why doubling a vulnerable contract that is likely to fail pays.

FAQ

Common questions

Short answers to what readers ask most.

Is there a free printable bridge scoring chart?
Yes. The PDF on this page is free, needs no sign-up and fits on one page in A4 or US Letter. It holds every contract made, doubled and redoubled, every penalty to thirteen down, the bonuses, rubber scoring and the IMP scale.
What is a bridge scoring cheat sheet?
A cheat sheet is a one-page summary you keep at the table so nobody has to work a score out from the rules. This chart is one, and the bridge bidding cheat sheet does the same job for the auction.
How much is 3NT worth in bridge?
3NT made exactly scores 400 not vulnerable and 600 vulnerable. The tricks are worth 100 (40, 30 and 30), and the game bonus adds 300 or 500.
Does the chart work for rubber bridge?
Yes. The trick values and the penalties are the same in rubber and duplicate. Rubber bridge has no part score or game bonus on each hand. It pays the rubber bonus instead, 700 for winning two games to none and 500 for two games to one, and the chart lists those together with the honors.
What about overtricks?
Undoubled overtricks score at the trick value of the suit, so 20 in a minor and 30 in a major or notrump. Doubled overtricks are 100 each not vulnerable and 200 vulnerable, redoubled 200 and 400. The PDF lists them, and the scoring calculator adds them up for any result.
Why is 5♣ worth the same as 3NT?
Both contracts are worth exactly 100 in trick points, five clubs at 20 each and three notrump tricks at 40, 30 and 30. Each gets the same game bonus, so both score 400 not vulnerable and 600 vulnerable.
